40 Africans to enroll in graduate mentorship, coaching programme

No fewer than 40 Africans from 15 countries across the continent have been enrolled in  Graduate Mentorship and Coaching Programme (AGMCP) MMßS1 mentorship and coaching programme for the fourth cohort.

The study is facilitated by the Interconnections for Making Africa Great Empowerment and Sustainable (IMAGES) Initiative.

A press release by Prof Olawale Olayide, President, IMAGES Initiative, said that the mentees are in three categories of Master, Doctoral and Post-doctoral.

According to him, they represented the five economic regions and countries of the continent as follows: Northern Africa – Algeria, Central Africa – Cameroon and Democratic Republic of Congo, Western Africa – Benin, Nigeria, Ghana and Niger.

Others are, Eastern Africa – Ethiopia, Kenya, Somalia, Tanzania and Uganda, Southern Africa – Malawi, South Africa and Zimbabwe.

Olayide explained that the 40 mentees will be assigned to renowned mentors, and will conduct research and capacity development training on the Sustainable African Food Systems.

While adding that the AGMCP Fellowship Year runs from January to December, he called on interested organizations working on agriculture and food systems in Africa to contact it for mutually-rewarding partnerships to develop the capacity of the mentees.
