BENUE State governor, Samuel Ortom, has disclosed that about 130 security personnel have been killed since suspected Fulani terrorist launched attacks on farming communities in 2018.
Governor Ortom revealed that suspected Fulani herdsmen were from neighbouring African countries like Mali, Libya, Chad etc.
In his keynote address during the presentation of automobiles and motorcycles to Livestock Guards , Community Volunteer Guards and District Heads across the 23 local government areas of the state, Governor Ortom vowed not to repeal the Anti-Open Grazing Law, as it was the wish of the people of Benue State.
“The people of Benue State demanded for the law to protect them against killer herdsmen who wants to take over our ancestral land and there is no going back. I stand on the law, as nobody can force me to repeal it except the people of Benue State
“I was not elected governor to supervise over the killing of my people; as such, I have taken steps to protect my people against enemies of by providing them with necessary weapons and logistics to fight invaders. “ (THE NATION)
