Former Speaker of the Imo state House of Assembly and the APC senatorial candidate for Okigwe zone, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Uwajumogu, has commended the appointment of Professor Anthony Anwuka, Dr. Chris Ngige, Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu, Rt. Hon Chibuike Amaechi, Chief Geoffrey Onyema, Chief Okechukwu Enelamah and others as Ministers of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
In his congratulatory message to the Ministers who were inaugurated last week by President Muhammadu Buhari, Rt. Hon. Uwajumogu also charged them to exhibit high sense of discipline and hardwork in pursuing the agenda of the present administration for the betterment of every Nigerian.
He described the appointment of the deserving Igbo sons as indeed, a round peg in a round hole, while expressing optimism that the Ministers Igbo extraction, having maintained unassailable pedigree in various areas of service to humanity, would deliver on their assigned duties.
The former Imo Assembly Speaker, also expressed happiness that Nigeria's educational system has come to witness unprecedented turn-around and a new lease of life following the appointment of a renowned educationist, Professor A.G Anwuka, the Minister of education (state), as according to him, the erudite Professor will bring his intimidating experiences to bear in tackling the myriads of challenges confronting our educational system overtime.
Uwajumogu admonished them to take advantage of their new positions to drive the manifesto of the All Progressive Congress (APC), down to the grassroots and also to galvanise the needed support for the President.
He noted that their emergence as ministers, has automatically changed the political dynamics and equations of the South-East and South-South geo-political zone, while also opening the doors of the APC, for equal participation of all Nigerians irrespective of their culture, social status, tribe or religious of affiliation
He charged people of the South-East and South-South geo-political zones to support the new Nigeria in which the newly appointed ministers represents, pointing out that such support would go a long way to securing their future and that of their children, as according to him, it was in the culture of President Buhari to always evolve measures aimed at alleviating the sufferings of the masses.
