Gov. Aminu Masari of Katsina State says the State Government will pay WAEC/NECO examination fees for secondary school students who passed mock examinations.

Masari announced this when he inspected the Family Support Nursery, Primary and Secondary Schools in the state on Friday.

“My administration has no plan to discontinue the payment of examination fees for students sitting for WAEC, NECO and NABTEB.

“Being a governor on APC platform, education, agriculture, water supply and healthcare are our key priorities.”

He added that his administration would rehabilitate 40 per cent of primary and secondary schools, as well as primary and secondary health institutions in the state by December 2016.

The governor said the decision was part of the administration’s determination to make the state to regain its position as centre for learning, excellence and peace.

Masari called on the Parent Teacher Association (PTA), corporate organisations and wealthy individuals to complement the government by contributing their quota to move the state forward.

He assured that the government would give all the support needed by those ready to partner with it to move the state forward.

The governor also said that the rehabilitation of Katsina, Daura and Funtua general hospitals had commenced in order to improve healthcare delivery in the state.

He called on people of the state to continue to support the administration’s policies and programmes aimed at improving the living conditions of the citizens. (NAN)
