Customs Comptroller slumps, dies in Kano Airport

The death has been announced of a Comptroller of Customs in charge of the Trade Facilitation Unit, Anthony Ayalogu.
 
Ayalogu died on Monday shortly after he took ill at the Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport.
 
A statement issued by the service spokesman, A.A. Maiwada on Tuesday, the NCS said the deceased who was on an official assignment suddenly slumped and died.
 
 
He was consequently rushed  to the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Hospital in Kano, where doctor confirmed him dead.
 
“He was in transit on an official assignment when he suddenly took ill upon arrival at Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport and lost consciousness.
 
“All efforts to revive him proved unsuccessful as he was pronounced dead at 2020 hours on Monday, 17th October 2022 at 465 Nigerian Air Force Hospital Kano. He was aged 57,” the statement read.
 
Ayalogu, who hailed from Onitsha North Local Government Area of Anambra State, joined the NCS on September 24, 1991 as Cadet Assistant Superintendent.
 
He had a bachelor’s degree in Botany from the University of Port Harcourt.
