The Nigeria chapter of the International Facility Management Association (IFMA) is billed to hold its 5th Annual Award dinner on October Friday, 30, 2015 at City Hall, Lagos.

The President of IFMA Nigeria, Mr Richard Olatunji Okesola, said that corporate institutions and individuals who had promoted the objectives of the association would be honoured while discussion would focus on “Positioning Facility Management to Support Nigeria Evolving Economy.”

Okesola explained that the award process had been quite rigorous and the ultimate winners would be deserving of their honour. He explained: “We involved the public in the process of nominating deserving practitioners. We sent out nomination papers to the public and gave enough time to for feedback. We used on various media platforms to sensitise the public and also involved our members who are on the field across the country in the process.”

He said state governments that had paid attention to facility management would also be honoured at the event.

Okesola explained that speakers at the programme had been selected among the best professionals in various aspects of the economy. “Apart from speakers from various sectors who are discussing at the event, awards will be given to organisations with excellent facility management services in Nigeria,” he further said.

IFMA Worldwide was founded in 1980 with the Nigerian chapter established 15 years later and incorporated in 1997. Twenty years after its founding, IFMA Nigeria has grown into the largest and strongest voices for professional facility managers in Africa.
