President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of Mrs. Winifred Ekanem Oyo-Ita, FCA, as the Acting Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, with effect from yesterday, Wednesday, October 21, 2015.

Mrs. Oyo-Ita, who until her appointment, was the Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Science and Technology, is from Odukpani Local Government, Cross River State.

The appointment is “a testimony of Mr. President’s implicit confidence and trust” in her ability to discharge the responsibilities of the office of Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Bolaji Adebiyi, Director of Press, Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), said in a terse statement issued in Abuja.

President Buhari had earlier approved the pre-retirement leave for the Head of Civil Service of the Federation, Mr Danladi Kifasi, with effect from October 20, 2015.

The letter conveying the President’s approval signed by SGF, Eng. Babachir David Lawal, conveyed the President’s “appreciation for the meritorious Service to the nation during his tenure as Head of the Civil Service of the Federation.”

The President wished Mr Kifasi Gods guidance and best of luck in his future endeavours.
