King Eke, Eze Gbakakbaka, hails Bible Society

The Bible Society of Nigeria (BSN) has been praised for taking the lead among others in translating the Bible into various Nigerian Languages

The Society has also been lauded for championing the cause of making the Bible available to a cross section of the Christian Community in Nigeria.

King Amb Sir Leslie Nyebuchi Eke Ph.D JP, Eze Gbakabaka Nyerisi Eli Woji XII, Nyerisi Mbam Oro-Evo, made the commendation when the Executives of the Rivers/Bayelsa Area of the Society led by its Chairman, Elder Omoni Ayo-Tamuno, recently paid a courtesy visit to the First Class Rivers Traditional Ruler in his palace as part of an enlightenment campaign towards the forthcoming Life Members Conference/Fund Raising for Bible House.

King Eke, however, called on the Society “to carry out more programmes and activities to reach the youths with the Word of God in our society”.

He disclosed that since he ascended the Ancient Stool, he had made it a duty to preach the Gospel at every opportunity.

Eze Eke said: “The effort of the Society is a welcome development that should be supported by all well-meaning people in position of authority”.

King Eke pledged to patronized the Society in its Bible Distribution Scheme by purchasing Bibles from the Society bookstore, saying that he loves giving out the Bible to those in need.

In the area of Office Space, the Traditional Ruler promised to do something positive and will consult far and near with others to address the challenge.

He thanked the Society for the visit which had afforded him the opportunity to know more about the Society and declared that he would be a Special Member and also expressed appreciation for the gift of the 2023 BSN Calendars and literatures presented to him.

Earlier in his speech, the Area Chairman, Elder Omoni Ayo-Tamuno had briefed the King Eke on the programmes and activities of the Society and informed the King on the forthcoming Conference and his invitation as the Traditional Ruler of the Day.

Elder Ayo-Tamuno lauded the Open Door Policy of the King who granted the request for the visit without stressed as experienced with others in similar positions

He who mentioned among others challenged of Office Space, lack of support by a cross section of pastors and difficulty in the distribution of the Bible presented the 2023 BSN Calendars, Membership Form and other literatures to the King as highlight of the visit.
