A robbery attack on a new generation bank located in Trans Amadi in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, was foiled on Wednesday by the State Police Command.

According to the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ahmad Mohammed, the command responded to a distress call that led to them trailing the fleeing robbers.

The Police PRO disclosed that the gang of eight who were fleeing in two utility vehicles engaged his men in a gun battle but the robbers were over powered.

He said that the main vehicle used for the operation was recovered and found to be carrying the stolen bags of money, which after counting was in the range of N130 million.
