The Nigerian Police has announced the arrest of two persons suspected to have masterminded the multiple bomb blasts that rocked two satellite towns of Kuje and Nyanya in Abuja.

The Inspector General of Police, Solomon Arase, made the pronouncement today at a meeting with senior police officers in Nigeria’s capital.

Mr Arase noted that the arrest of the suspects foiled another attempt by the suspected terrorists to undertake another attack in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

He revealed that items recovered from the terror suspects were 12 already prepared and primed Home Made Explosives concealed in 12 soft drink cans, 28 pieces of electronic detonators and large quantity of Improvised Explosive Device-making materials.

The police boss also hinted that the five out of the eight-man gang responsible for the kidnap of Mr Olu Falae that were earlier arrested would be arraigned in Akure, the Ondo State capital.

The Abuja Zonal Coordinator of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Ishayah Chonoko, had confirmed that 59 people were affected in the October 2 multiple blasts.

He said that 20 persons lost their lives while 41 persons were injured. (Channles TV)
