The Comptroller General of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Mr. Martin Abeshi, has threatened to publish the names of former ministers, governors and members of the National and State Assemblies who are illegally in possession of official and diplomatic passports.

Mr. Abeshi who issued the threat while speaking in Abuja however said that over 200 passports have been retrieved since the directive for the withdrawal was given.

Mr. Abeshi also assured Nigerians of tight security at the nation’s borders.

Speaking at a news conference with journalists in Abuja, Mr. Abeshi said the service will achieve the feat through its officers currently in the nation’s ‎land, air and sea borders.

He solicited the support of all Nigerians in its bid to ensure proper border control.

Meanwhile, the service has denied playing any part in the process that led to the issuance of the Nigerian visa to the wanted ISIS Chief, Ahmed Al Assir in Lebanon. (Channels TV)
