Abia State Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, has inaugurated two electricity projects in Awom Ukwu, Ikwuano Local Government Area and Ntigha in Isiala Ngwa North Local Government Area of the state.
Inaugurating the projects, the Governor said his administration was commited to rendering service, adding that availability of electricity would create job for the youths and bring prosperity to the benefitting communities.
Ikpeazu assured the of Ikwuano that the dilapidated federal road in the area would be tackled, adding that there were three options of doing the Road which include the federal government reconstructing it alone or contributing half of the funds that would be committed to the rehalitation project or the federal government permitting Abia government to do the road and submit her bill for refund.
In their separate speeches, the Transition Committee Chairman of Ikwuano LGA, Clement Onukwuo and his Islala Ngwa North counterpart, Ginger Onwusibe, thanked the Governor for completing the projects within his first 100 Days in office and requested for execution of more projects in their areas.
Chairman of Abia State Oil Producing areas Development Commission (ASOPADEC), which executed the projects, Emeka Stanley, said the commission was happy to have completed the assignment in line with the governor’s directive and called on the benefitting communities to protect the property.
