Former Kogi Governor, Alhaji Ibrahim Idris, has rejoiced with Muslims in the state and Nigerians at large on the commemoration of this year’s Eid el Fitr.
In his goodwill message to mark the occasion, the former Kogi Governor expressed joy and happiness for the successful completion of Ramadan 2022 “that attracted strong supplications and dedication to the service of Almighty God, as one of the strong pillars of Islamic religion.”
The Jakadan Sokoto prayed that the lessons learnt from the one month of “religious restrictions that involve supplications, will be extended to human activities through display of naked transparency, patriotism, good deeds to our fellow beings.”
He said that this year’s Ramadan period was very significant as Nigeria is going through its selection process of political leadership at all levels, noting that the country requires “indepth prayers for God’s intervention towards producing good leaders at all levels.”
Idris maintained that with good leadership and followership, Nigeria will be a place of pride in all areas.
He urged Nigerians to use this year’s celebration “to pray for sound and rejigged economy, against the unabated insecurity as well as to grant our leaders them the wisdom to do more for the country.”
The former governor appealed to Muslims to extend their celebration to Christians, among many others, as “there is love in sharing with one another.”
He prayed for many more years of Sallah celebrations, while urging the people to continue to display the lessons learnt from the sacred month in their personal affairs and in relation to others.
