The Police Service Commission (PSC) has warned Nigerians interested in joining the Nigeria Police Force to beware of activities of fraudsters.

This is contained in a statement issued by the Head, Press and Public Relations of the commission, Mr. Ikechukwu Ani in Abuja on Tuesday.

It would be recalled that President Muhammadu Buhari recently approved the recruitment of 10,000 policemen.

The statement said that the Chairman of the commission, Mr. Mike Okiro, confirmed that the commission had not started the recruitment.

It said that no application form for recruitment has been released.

The statement said the commission and the Nigeria Police Force are currently working out the details.

It stressed that when completed, the commission would publicise the commencement of the recruitment in line with the requirements of the law.

It further warned that the Police would not hesitate to arrest and prosecute anybody caught selling recruitment forms or collecting money from intending applicants.

The statement said that the commission would not charge fees for forms when the exercise begins.

It advised prospective applicants to exercise patience and wait for the formal commencement of the exercise. (NAN)
