The Nigerian Governors Forum (NGF) on Thursday commended the Federal Government on the success recorded in the fight against Boko Haram insurgency in the North East
Chairman of the forum and Governor of Zamfara State, Alhaji Abdul Azeez Yari, made the commendation while fielding question with newsmen in Yola.
Governor Yari said the federal government had recorded meaningful achievement in maintaining security and stability, especially in the North East region.
“We are satisfied with the effort and the way our government at the centre and the military are confronting Boko Haram insurgency.
“It is clear they are doing their best in ensuring relative peace in the country.”
On rustling, Yari expressed concern over the situation, saying that the affected states had collaborated to fight the menace.
“We are putting collective political and security strength to defeat the rustlers.
“And recently, the collective efforts have started yielding result as over 10,000 cattle, Sheep and Camels were retrieved and handed over to owners.” (NAN)
