The Nigeria Patriotic Coalition (NPC) launched out in Kano on Monday with a grand outing at the Northwest regional engagement at The Nigeria Agenda.

Delegates of the Coalition from across the country were led to the well-attended event by its Convener, Hon. Yemi Akinbode, who is also the Chairman of the National Management Council of the NPC

In his Goodwill message, Akinbode said that the group taken it as an urgent national duty the ongoing national conversations, which are "aimed at not only addressing but also tackling some of the critical questions and issues confronting our co-existence as a nation state".

He explained that the NPC partnered with the Nigeria Prosperity Movement (NPM) on the Nigeria Agenda campaign to restore the dignity of life of the Nigerian man, the Nigerian woman, the Nigerian youth and the Nigerian child anywhere on the face of the earth.

“We are discussing the sanctity of the Nigerian life, respect for the lives and being of Nigerians irrespective of creed, religion or any other background.

“We mean that, as a people, there is need for us to be patriotic and commit to the ideals of a strong, united, virile and indivisible nation where we can live together with love and faith.

“We are challenging our leaders and followers to believe in Nigeria, to foster and promote the Nigerian dream, culture, morals, values and cherish the essence and ideology of our co-existence,” Akinbode stated.

He explained that the Nigeria Agenda implied that “we (Nigerians) must pursue a renaissance of our lost history and glory, thus reclaiming our values of hard work, integrity, diligence and selflessness. Living our own dreams, buying our own brands and products, promoting our self-worth through the rebirth and rebranding that starts with the emergence of a dedicated, selfless and credible leadership; a leadership that will shape not only the lives of Nigerians in particular but that of all Africans in general.”

Akinbode further said that the JKF-NPC had come to the NPM to support “the big IDEA and the CONVERSATION on the NIGERIA AGENDA. It is therefore a meeting on like minds that you have chosen The Nigeria Agenda as the focus of the campaign to re-invigorate the Nigeria re-birth”.

The delegation of the NPC at the Northwest outreach of the NPM included Alhaji Lawal Tahir Ringim, Northwest leader, who is the Northwest leader; Alhaji Tijani Hamisu, Mrs Dorcas Jatau, Kaduna State Coordinator; Alhaji Suleiman Kabara, Kano State Coordinator, and Alhaji Aba Abdulkadir, Katsina State Coordinator.

NPC is an umbrella body of civil society organisations (CSOs), non-governmental organisations, labour and trade organisations, professional and pressure groups, influecers and community-based associations who are committed to the unity and progress of Nigeria through the institutionalisation of good governance and leadership.

Other regional outreaches are coming up, Akinbode assured.
