Ex-agitators hail Senator Dickson for keeping promise, empowering constituents

The leadership of Bayelsa West Ex-Agitators forum has hailed former Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Henry Seriake Dickson, for coming back his senatorial district to show gratitude to his people during the festive season

The group also commended the senator for keeping his promise of continuity in the organisation of a football  competition known as the Ofurumapepe Cup in the Senatorial District and the grass root-based Nanaye Dickson traditional wrestling competition

According to the group, the two competitions was initiated by Dickson while he was Bayelsa State for the purpose of talent discovery, grooming, youth and culture development. 

A press statement signed by the group's chairman, Aso Tambo, secretary, Okiemo Stephen, Paul Ibenane Ebibokefie, Public Relation Officer, as well as other members of the group.expressed convinction that Senator Dickson has performed excellently and has undoubtedly exceeded our expectation of what a Senator should be. 

The statement partly reads: "He has provided superlative representation for our people, Bayelsa and the Ijaw Nation. 
 
"Therefore, we are strongly putting our weight behind him for another term in the Senate in the interest of our people. Since Senator Dickson assumed office as Senator  at the National Assembly, he has passionately defended the Ijaw cause.  Bayelsa West Senatorial District, Bayelsa State, the Niger Delta and the entire Ijaw nation are very proud of his exploits. 

"Nigerians and the world at large witnessed the heated Petroleum Industry Bill and the Oil producing Communities Bill debate and how our Senator staged a walk out, expressing his displeasure and refusal to align with the oppressive position the house took on the matter.

"Our struggle as ex-agitators has been made easy by the efforts and constructive  contributions of our Senator. Similar efforts involving the Amnesty office has increased assess to the educational opportunities the agency provides for youths across the Ijaw nation.

"The leadership of the Bayelsa West Ex-agitators Forum is happy with the People Oriented Representation from our senator and we assure him of our full support."

While wishing the senator, the state governor and the people of Bayelsa West Senatorial District a happy new year, the group gave assurance that it will galvanise more support for Dickson 
within it ranks any time the need arises.
