Edo State Governor Adams Oshiomhole has described Nigeria’s ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as a party that has dug its own grave in Edo State, and is deeply buried in the sins he says it has committed against the people.

The governor was speaking at the Ugbekun Primary School field at Upper Sakpoba area of the state capital Benin, during the flagging off of the campaign of the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) chairmanship candidate for Ikpoba Okha Local Government Area, Mrs. Itohan Ogbeide.

While urging Ikpoba Okha voters to choose the ACN chairmanship and councillorship candidates at the state-wide local government polls scheduled for April 20, Oshiomhole said the PDP is a “People Deceive People party.”

Speaking in pidgin to the large crowd at the primary school, the ‘Comrade Governor’ made several biblical allusions in his bashing of the PDP.

“The PDP is a dead party. They have died in sin, as a result of the bad things they have done in Edo State. And the Bible says when you die in sin you will suffer hellfire. Let us make sure the PDP doesn’t resurrect from the land of the dead,” the governor said to cheers.

He also described the relationship between the ruling ACN and citizens of the state as a Catholic wedding in which a divorce is not allowed.

In her speech, the council chairmanship candidate, Mrs. Ogbeide, appealed to the people to vote for her and her party, stressing that as a one-time chairman of the council, she had completed several important projects. She said she has plans to complete the several ones she had started if voted into office next month.
