The Jigawa State Government has ordered for the salaries of all unvaccinated civil servants under the payroll of the Garki Local Government Council, to be withheld.

According to the Local Government Chairman, Alhaji Mudasir Musa, who gave the directive, stated that no worker under the local government’s payroll will receive a December salary without showing his or her COVID-19 vaccination card.

Musa disclosed this while speaking at the Local Government Secretariat, in Garki.

Also, the Dutse Local Government Council has barred all unvaccinated workers from accessing the Local Government Secretariat.

“The whole idea is to show people the importance of the vaccine because they are reluctant to accept the vaccine.

“The Federal and State Governments have already launched the exercise; so, we are doing the same,” the Local Government Chairman, Bala Usman Chamo said. (Daily Independent)
