Senate adjourns sitting, reconvenes September 29

The 8th Senate yesterday announced the adjournment of its sitting to reconvene on September 29, after daily business of the day in the Red Chamber.

However, News Express learnt that while on recess, the legislators would continue to have committee sittings and engagements required in charting the course of national development.

In the same development, the lower chamber of the National Assembly, the House of Representatives, had mourned the late Ooni of Ife, Oba Okunade Sijuwade, observing a minute silence, during its plenary session today.

During the session today, the House decried the deplorable condition of federal roads and security in Aba, Abia State, and has equally received report on the review of Code of Conduct for parliamentarians.

Also, the green chamber weighed in on strike action by staff of Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital.
