The rumour making the round that the Vice Chancellor, Ahaneku has been relieved of his appointment, was yesterday described as untrue by the Public Relations Officer of the institution, Mr. Emma Ojukwu, who stressed that the VC’s seat is very intact.

According to him, “That is not true, if it were, you will know. The VC is busy doing his work and is at the moment in Abuja.”

News Express gathered that the rumor may have sprung up from detractors who would stop at nothing to see the downfall of the institution’s number one man.

A staff of the institution who spoke on anonymity said that because of the drama that played out during the elections, the VC may be facing a lot of tackles like the recent accusation by the former student union President who accused the VC of increasing acceptance fee or new students.

Despite the rumors and counter rumors, Ahaneku seems undaunted as he has been busy carrying out his duty. Last week, he inspected some ongoing projects in the institution.
