Veteran motion pictures practitioner Zeb Ejiro has said that since the story of his plans to produce the sequel to his 1996 box office, Domitilla, was published last week, his phone has become hot line of sorts.

Maggie’s Blog, the entertainment segment of News Express, had reported on Friday, October 15 plans by the acclaimed “Sheikh of Nollywood” to hit the shelves soon with the second part of Domitilla, a hit movie he released in 1996.

In a chat with Maggie’s Blog yesterday, he said:

“Since your publication came up with that story last Friday, I have not known peace. My phone has become a hot line. My office has turned to Mecca for people who want to get roles in the Domitilla sequel. It’s like all the youths, including those who are already in the industry, want to take part in the movie.”

Asked if the development is giving him sleepless nights, the Isoko, Delta State indigene who was born in Equatorial Guinea said:

“Sleepless nights? Not at all. I see it as a good development. I see it as another opportunity to make stars. Remember that some artistes became instant stars when Domitilla was first released in 1996. You can mention acts such as Ann Njemanze, Charles Okafor, Ada Ameh, Sandra Achums, and others. The sequel will not be different. That's why I am planning to use new faces and turn them to stars as well.

“Even though we are looking out for attractive young ladies between 20-29 years of age as well as good actresses who have never been in a lead role, we are going to see it as a challenge to select the very best during the forthcoming audition. We cannot afford to go below the high standards we are known for,” he added.

Recall that the renowned movie producer and director has scheduled audition for the new flick to hold on Thursday October 21 by 10am at the office of Directors Guild of Nigeria located at Simisola Street, off Ogunlana Drive, Surulere, Lagos.

Zeb Ejiro has been in the forefront of movie production in the country. Some of his hit flicks are Nneka the Pretty Serpent, Sakobi the Snake Girl, Glamour Girls, Domitilla, and many others.
