Senator Andy Uba Governorship Campaign Organisation (SAUGCO) has taken a swipe at the Governor Willie Obiano administration and the ruling … over their claim that the ‘Anambra deputy governor’s defection from the All Progressives Grand Alliance is of no consequence’.
Deputy Governor Nkem Okeke officially defected to the federal-ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) on Wednesday.
APGA and the SA Political to Governor Obiano, Chief Ifeatu Obi-Okoye, have described the defection of the Deputy Governor to APC as having no consequence on the party’s fortunes.
Reacting to the comment, SAUGCO said later yesterday that Obi-Okoye has been sweating since the news of the defection of the Deputy Governor to APC.
SAUGCO in a statement signed by its Deputy Director, Ikechukwu Emeka Onyia, also alleged that the SA to the Governor has been trying to play down the momentous event with words.
The statement reads further: “Obi-Okoye should be more worried about the failure of the APGA-led Anambra State Government in almost all sectors for the past eight years – a development which has led to mass exodus from the APGA to APC.”
It said that Nkem Okeke is very consequential in all endeavours he has ever engaged him with, from University lecturer, community leader and deputy governor of Anambra State.
The statement described Nkem Okeke as a man who represents a shining star in anything he touches.
“Now, if he was such a paper weight, how come he was chosen as running mate in Obiano’s first term, and still retained in the second?” it asked.
The statement advised Ifeatu Obi Okoye and APGA “to stop crying over their loss and deal with the reality of looming defeat.”
