The Commissioner of Police in Anambra State, CP Tony Olofu, has sued for peace and tolerance among political parties in the state as campaigns for the November 6, 2021 governorship campaigns begin.

Addressing political party representatives during an interactive session held at the state Police Command in Awka on Monday, September 20, 2021 the CP said the measure is to sustain the existing public order and public safety in the state.

He said: “I am assuring the good people of Anambra State that the Police is committed to working with other patriotic stakeholders toward ensuring public order in the state before, during and after the political rallies.”

Olofu promised to always be on ground to coordinate the security deployment and ensure the rallies are hitch-free.

He called on members of the general public to coordinate themselves and cooperate with the security agents in the course of discharging their constitutional duty.
