I have read the release of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) on the Twitter ban. And to think that the writer, Sen. John Akpan Udoedeghe, the APC National Caretaker Secretary, holds a PhD!

First, what sovereignty is he talking about? A sovereignty that is so choking that the only thing certainly likely is that you may be killed, kidnapped or raped?

A sovereignty that is so choking that seeming mediocres become celebrities once they set their foot in a free country?

A sovereignty where the blood of citizens daily flow like water and their bodies litter the grounds waiting for the eagle to feast on?

A sovereignty where cries of anguish across the land meet with dead silence of the head?

A sovereignty where the head is quick to roll out the guns when citizens protest the harshness of times while those who cause the anguish are given a pat on the back?

Where is the sovereignty?

How can talents being hunted by state indulged terrorists have the peace of mind to develop an App to rival world giants?

How can talents being hunted by the state itself ever get productive to develop an App to rival twitter?

How can talents whose parents’ means of livelihood have been destroyed by herdsmen and who are faced with existential threats collect their talents together, and then, deploy it to save the face of a government that has failed them?

Not even the children of the PhD writer of the garbage on behalf of the APC (All Promises Cancelled) and their band of looters can do much good in the war atmosphere their parents have heaped on them, in spite of the sick opulence they enjoy.

In the countries cited as examples, citizens have the peace and security necessary to pursue dreams, exhibit talents and become overtly patriotic. Has Buhari and his APC given Nigerians any of these?
