APGA youth leaders threaten to boycott party’s primary if excluded from delegates list

Youth leaders of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Anambra State have threatened to boycott the party’s primary election slated for June 23, 2021, if the party fails to include them as delegates.

The youth leaders from the 326 wards in the state issued the threat in Awka the state capital after endorsing a member of the House of Representatives, Hon Chukwuma Umeoji, as their choice candidate for the November 6, governorship election.

Addressing journalists on Tuesday evening, APGA state youth leader, Comrade Eziokwu Magnus Eziokwu, said that the youths are the life-wire of the party.

He said: “I am still wondering why the party has refused to include us as party delegates, despite our huge contribution to the survival of the party, majorly in the area of grassroots mobilization.

“We call on the state governor, Chief Willie Obiano, to help address the issue of why the party had refused to include the youths as delegates.”

Eziokwu hailed the Governor Willie Obiano for his uncommon projects across the 181 communities in the state, including the International Cargo and Passengers Airport Umueri

In his speech, Hon Umeoji, who is the member representing Aguata Federal Constituency thanked the youths for endorsing him.

He assured that the party under the leadership of Obiano and the National Chairman of the party, Chief Victor Oye, would provide a level playing ground for all the aspirants during the Primaries.

The Lawmaker promised to carry everyone along irrespective of affiliations if elected next Governor of Anambra State.
