The Akwa Ibom State Government says it has uncovered plot by some miscreants to wreck havoc in the state by attacking key government and public institutions.

The government, in a statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the State Governor, Mr. Ekerete Udoh, urged the general public to be on the look-out for any suspicious individuals, groups, movements or activities that may breach the peace, and to promptly report same to law enforcement agents “without delay.”

“Government, therefore warned the sponsors and those who are recruited to embark on such sinister plot with a view to breaching the public peace and tranquility and creating a state of anarchy in the state, that the security agencies have been put on red alerts and are ready to apprehend and deal decisively with and prosecute anyone that violates the law,” Mr. Udoh stated.

The statement advised all law-abiding citizens to go about their lawful and legitimate duties and businesses “without fear of molestation,” as the government was alive to its responsibilities of safe-guarding lives and property of the citizenry.
