Imo State Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha, has declared that he has no problem with his embattled deputy, Sir. Jude Agbaso.

Agbaso has come under intense pressure to resign after being indicted by the Imo State House of Assembly, which has been investigating allegations of financial gratification leveled against Sir Agbaso by a major road contractor.

While some reports have blamed Agbaso’s travails on purported strained relations with his principal, Governor Okorocha last night told News Express that he has no problem with Agbaso.

“He remains the Deputy Governor as he has not resigned,” said the governor’s spokesman Ebere Uzoukwa when asked to comment on reports that Agbaso had turned in his resignation letter.

Uzoukwa, the Special Assistant on Media to Okorocha, insisted that “Sir Jude Agbaso still enjoys a very cordial relationship with his boss, Owelle Rchas Okorocha, despite the ongoing investigation by the Imo State House of Assembly over allegation of financial gratification leveled against him by a Lebanese contractor handling one of the major projects in the state.”

News Express reports that Sir Agbaso has vehemently denied the allegation and vowed not to resign from his position. He is insisting on fair hearing amidst growing fears that he may be impeached if he fails to correctly read the handwriting on the wall and honourably throw in the towel.
