Unknown gunmen have reportedly killed three police Orderlies to former Central Bank Governor, Prof Charles Soludo, in Afuzo, Isuofia in Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra State during an interactive meeting he held with Isuofia youths.
It was gathered that the meeting which was held at the town’s civic centre witnessed a serious stampede when gunmen arrived the scene.
Unconfirmed reports have it that the state Commissioner for Public Utilities, Engineer Emeka Ezenwanne, was whisked away by the invaders.
The National Secretary of All Soludo Support groups and the Convener of Youths Earnestly Seek Soludo (YEES), Dr. Nelson Obinna Omenugha, who confirmed the attack in a telephone interview with our correspondent, said: “Yes, there is a serious stampede now in Afuzo area of Isuofia which is in Aguata LGA of Anambra state.”
As at the time of filling the report, Soludo, who is the leading aspirant of the ruling All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in the November 6, 2021 governorship election in the state, was said to be safe.
The state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Ikenga said investigation is ongoing.
