The Civil Defence, Fire, Immigration and Prisons Service Board (CDFIPB) last week elevated 128 personnel of the Federal Fire Service (FFS).

Among those promoted from Controllers to the rank of Assistant Controller Generals (ACGs) are ACG Olusola Basiri, ACG Emmanuel Olisemeka Machie and ACG Quintus Q. Azogu. They were decorated by the Controller General, Federal Fire Service, Anebi Joseph Garba, who described their promotion as an additional responsibility that requires beneficiaries to put in more efforts towards enhancement of service delivery.
He maintained that there are several other good things that have been lined up for officers in the service though, by merit which include; promotion, local and overseas training as he had entered into MoU with the British Counterpart to reactivate the International Fire Engineering Certificate Course (IFE) as part of Fire Service curriculum and exams set by the institute and supervised by the National Fire Academy (NFA) Sheda, Abuja and passed by officers alongside certificate holders of any approved colleges in the country, would be considered for promotion.
The CG emphasised that commitment and dedication to duty will always attract his attention and called on those promoted to carry along others to ensure co-operation and mutual understanding among members of staff.
