Six army impersonators nabbed in Delta

Delta State Command of the Nigeria Police Force on Wednesday apprehended six men for parading themselves as army officers across the state.
Speaking yesterday at the Command Headquarters in Asaba, Commissioner of Police, Ari Muhammed Ali solicited for timely and credible information from the public in curbing crime.
He recalled his meeting with traditional rulers and community stakeholders with the aim to foster the existing relationship between public and the police.
           
The CP revealed that a patrol team from B Division Ughelli nabbed one Sunday Digbor with two military uniforms along Uduere Ughelli road, Ughelli North Local Government Area.
He disclosed that a team of Operation Delta Hawk intercepted two suspected stolen Toyota Corolla with registration number ABJ49AA and a black Mercedes Formatic Keep without a plate number, along Midwifery Junction, Okpanam road, Asaba.
 
He mentioned that the five occupants of the vehicles namely; Chigozie Arinze, Kingsley Ndukuba, Nwokoye Chidera , Chinedu Akwali, Chidera Anichukwu were nabbed with six pieces of army uniform.
 
While speaking with Daily Independent, Chidera Anichukwu, one of the fake army personnel who identified himself as a cadet in Southern Maritime Academy, Ughelli, said he bought the army uniform for N 18, 000 from an unknown army officer.
 
“I bought it because the army officer told me it is a privilege to wear the uniform as a cadet officer,” he said. (Daily Independent)
