A former Commissioner for Information in Anambra State, Hon. Emma Nkwocha, has described the All Progressives Congress (APC) as a party without any grip on the soul of Anambra politics.

He said that the magic performed by Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State to take over the leadership of the state cannot be allowed to happen in the state.

Nkwocha, who spoke on Sunday evening during the declaration of his interest to contest the November 6 gubernatorial election under the platform of YPP at his country home, Enugwu-ukwu, said: “I chose to contest under YPP because as a former member of the PDP, I don't see them making any headway. The party is enmeshed in crisis.

“The election is between APGA, PDP, and YPP. APC has no presence here in Anambra. Whatever magic Uzodimma performed in Imo State to become the state governor cannot happen here. YPP is the party to beat.

“I know all the tricks of election, so I am going to stop vote stealing to ensure votes count. My coming out today will cause heart attack in some camps today.”

While saying that he will take his campaign door to door to convince voters on the need for change, he said that he was prompted to join the contest because of the level of development stagnation in the state.

The former commissioner dismissed any fears of intimidation from his lone opponent, Senator Ifeanyi Ubah, saying that the decision of who will fly the party’s flag lies in the hands of party delegates.
