Zamfara State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has banned the unauthorised use of the union’s sticker.

A communique on Friday, signed by the Council chairman and his secretary, Abdulrazak Bello Kaura and Abubakar Ahmed respectively, said that its regular State Executive Council (SEC) meeting presided by the Council Chairman resolved that non-members of the union should henceforth desist from using the NUJ official sticker under any guise.

The council also called on security agencies to support the union in ensuring that only journalists with their official organisation’s or NUJ National Identity Card are allowed usage of the sticker.

Members of union were called upon to be more dedicated to their work and be closely guided by the ethics of the profession.

On the current insecurity, the union joined the state government, security agencies and people of the state in prayers to see the end of armed banditry facing the state in particular and the nation in general.
