Murdered upcoming hip hop star Olaniyan Damilola alias Damino Damoche was a brilliant student who received scholarship from the management of the Lagos State University (LASU), News Express can disclose this morning.
He was a “one-time LASU university scholarship recipient,” says former LASU student leader Alade Abiodun a.k.a GoldenGem. “So sad to hear that he was shot dead at the school gate,” adds Abiodun, describing the news as “worrisome.”
A final year student in the Faculty of Management Science, Damoche was felled yesterday afternoon in front of LASU’s main campus gate in Ojo on his way out of the school. He was shot in the head and arm, dying on the spot. No arrest has been made in the killing reportedly perpetrated by cultists.
Music buff Daniel C. Nwachukwu, who followed Damoche’s career described his songs as being “rotten, filled with lot of uncensored words, but people really enjoy it. That’s why he gained so much recognition within a short time.”
Some of the fallen act’s songs include Street Madness Freestyle, Follow Me Wine and Pop Champaign.
