Defending champions Real Madrid minutes ago crashed out of the 2015 European Champions League, thus ending dreams of another all-Spanish final.
Hopes of the current cup holders to successfully defend the trophy they won last year in Lisbon, Portugal, effectively died when they failed to beat visiting Juventus of Italy. The big game at the Santiago Bernabeu ended one goal apiece – Morata cancelling out a first half goal off the penalty spot by Cristiano Ronaldo.
In the end, it was Juve, who won the first leg 2-1 last week in Italy, who sailed through on 3-2 aggregate and will now meet Barcelona, who last night overcame Bayern Munich in the first second leg semi-final, in the ultimate final on June 6 in Berlin, Germany.
