Boko Haram insurgents invade Yobe community

Gunmen suspected to be Boko Haram insurgents have today afternoon stormed Kusur Community, Geidam Local Government Area of Yobe State search houses and carted away Gold Jeweleries.

Resident of the area who spoke on the condition of anonymity revealed to Daily Independent that “the gunmen around 2:00pm came on convoy of Motorcycles and search for Gold Jeweleries, took it away from our wives and mothers and ran away. We have been living in panic throughout this week as people keep telling us that they sighted their movements not fat away from our community, we have flee our houses for fear of the unknown”

ASP Dungus Abdulkarim, Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) Yobe Police Command, Damaturu confirmed the incident saying that “yes we have received an intelligent report that some gunmen paired on motorcycles were sighted around the Kusur area, our men are fully on alert and are on top of the situation.”.

Checks revealed that the gunmen did not kill nor hurt anyone in their operations. (Daily Independent)
