Broadcasting in Nigeria has lost one of its most talented presenters and MCs.

Popular Lagos On Air Personality OAP SLY (real name Sylvester Ojigbede) died yesterday after a brief illness, his employers announced three hours ago.

“Megalectrics Limited (Operator of Classic Fm 97.3) deeply regret to announce the passing of one of our OAP Sylvester Ojigbede popularly known as SLY, host of the ‘Morning Show’ and Saturday morning show ‘Saturday Express’ on our station,” a station by the radio station said.

It disclosed that “Sly passed away on Sunday the 3rd of May after a brief illness,” adding:

“Funeral arrangements will be announced by his family.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife, children and extended family at this difficult time.

“May his soul rest in peace.

“He will be deeply missed by all of us.”

SLY is being mourned by fans and friends, who have taken to social media to lament his unexpected demise.
