A sociology professor in the Egyptian city of Alexandria has been suspended for allegedly insulting Prophet Muhammad while airing his views about the Charlie Hebdo cartoons in a broadcast online.
Students at the Higher Institute for Social Work said they were offended by Muhammad Mahdali's comments and lodged a complaint.
They posted footage after the professor deleted his feed and apologised.
The minister of higher education has ordered the suspension of Dr Mahdali and ordered an urgent investigation. (Text, excluding headline, courtesy BBC)
