President Goodluck Jonathan and President-elect, retired Maj.-Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, met again in Abuja to further their conversation on the wellbeing of the country.
The meeting, which took place at the Aso Rock Villa on Friday, was the President-elect’s second visit to Jonathan since the declaration of the presidential polls results on March 31.
Jonathan, who had earlier paid a private visit to Buhari after he was declared the winner of the polls, told State House correspondents that the visit was for the two to continue their conversation for national interest.
“We will take a date where the president-elect will come, and I will show him round the State House. But today is not for that. Today we are continuing with our conversation.
“So, you don’t need to worry the President-(elect), you don’t need to also worry the President.
“But, you, see that we are smiling, it was a fruitful discussion and we won’t tell you what we are discussing but it is for the interest of the country,” Jonathan said.
When the President-elect, was asked to chip in a word, he simply said that he agreed with what Jonathan said, he replied: “The President said it all.”
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that meeting, which lasted for about 30 minutes, was held behind closed doors.
The president-elect was accompanied on the visit by the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief John Oyegun, and a former Chief of Army Staff, Gen. Abdulrahman Danbazau. (NAN)
