The Public Complaints Commission (PCC) has lauded the Enugu Electricity Distribution Company (EEDC) for its consistent improvement in power supply and service quality to its customers across the South-East zone.

The Federal Commissioner of PCC, Enugu State, Chief Chidi Ekwe, gave the commendation when he paid an advocacy visit to the Managing Director/CEO of EEDC, Mr. Okey Nwosu, at the company’s Corporate Head Office in Enugu.

Ekwe, who was in company of other top officials of the Commission, said that the visit was to acquaint EEDC with the workings of the Commission.

According to him, PCC visited to synergise and collaborate with EEDC to achieve more towards better service delivery to Enugu State in particular, and the country at large.

He commended EEDC’s Customer Service Team who, he said, are usually interfaces with the Commission, for the timely response to enquiries on any matter pending before it against EEDC, and their prompt response to invitation for further deliberation on such matters.

“I laud EEDC’s commitment towards ensuring availability of power supply to residential customers in the hit of the COVID-19 pandemic, when most people were observing the sit-at-home directive of the Federal Government.

“The Commission wants to join your numerous customers scattered all over, of which we all are part of, to appreciate you for the improved and regular electricity supply being experienced and enjoyed at present. We urge you to keep it up,” he said.

Responding, Nwosu who was represented by the Deputy Managing Director, EEDC, Mr Paul Okeke, appreciated the team for their visit and took time to explain the dynamics of EEDC operations, its challenges and role in the Nigerian Electricity Supply Industry.

He assured the Commission of EEDC’s commitment in ensuring that the two parties work together to deliver and sustain quality and reliable service to customers.

Highlights of the event was a tour of the Smart Meter Lab to witness and appreciate the effort being made by EEDC’s approved Meter Asset Providers (MAPs) in ensuring that customers are metered.
