There is serious tension at Hausa Quarters area of Igbudu Market in Warri South Local Government Area of Delta State following the killing of the Chief Priest of Igbudu community by suspected hoodlums.

It was gathered that the suspected hoodlums attacked and stabbed the Chief Priest of Igbudu Community to death for allegedly impregnating and abandoning a Hausa lady.

A source told INDEPENDENT that the deceased had attended a carnival at Digbori street off Hausa Quarters when the hoodlums believed to have come from the Hausa Community, attacked and stabbed him to death.

The source stated further that youths of Igbudu community are angry over the death of the deceased who was said to be a grandson of the late Alawuru.

There are fears that the youths may avenge the death of the chief priest and this may snowball into crises.

When contacted, President of Igbudu Community Youths, Mr. Pius Oyiboaga, confirmed the story, saying he was only the Chief Priest of Igbudu 2 community and not the entire Igbudu.

On the circumstances that led to his death, he said he cannot say if it was secret cult-related issues.
