The card readers deployed for today’s governorship and House of Assembly elections by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) have failed in many polling units in Abia State.

News Express learnt that the device did not work in most wards in Arochukwu. Similarly, in Ikwuano Ariam Ward 1, card readers did not work. Electoral officials had to resort to manual accreditation.

Meanwhile, the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), whose candidate, Dr. Alex Otti, is a favourite to win the governorship ballot, has cried out over alleged intimidation by the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). APGA alleged that its agents have been driven away in Ohafia and in several other places.
