Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF), has on Wednesday, congratulated the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the commission’s Chairman, Professor Attahiru Jega for a job well done.

ACF also congratulated and commended President Goodluck  Jonathan for conceding defeat even before the elections were concluded by calling the president elect Gen Muhammadu Buhari on the telephone to congratulate him on his victory.

A statement signed by the Chairman National Executive Council (NEC), Alhaji Ibrahim A Coomassie, said facing enormous challenges that were not devoid of harassment and intimidation by the enemies of our democratic processes, Professor Jega was able to surmount these difficulties to give Nigeria the most credible elections, ever, in the history of the nation.

"Today, Nigerians from all walks of life celebrate a milestone in Nigeria’s democratic history after holding a successful general election, which will usher in a new government in the next few months.

“It is a significant milestone because it is the first time in the nation’s democratic process that an opposition party has effectively and convincingly emerged victorious at the polls. This is in spite of the factor of incumbency and of the advantages of an array of state apparatuses available to the party in power.
