The police in Suleja town of Niger State have arrested two persons over allegation of working with kidnappers as informants.
North Central Trust gathered that the suspects were arrested during an early morning raid in Unguwar Juma.
A resident of the area told North Central Trust that one of the suspects simply identified as Abubakar was the first to be arrested by the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) following a tip off.
The resident said, “The SARS arrived the area around 01:00am and sighted his car, but unsure of his whereabouts, took position. One of them went to the vehicle and started deflating its tyres; that was when the suspect came out from a nearby room.”
It was further learnt that the suspect made an attempt to flee but was rounded up by other security men around and was immediately taken to the Suleja Police “A” Division where he was held.
Confirming the incident, the Suleja Area Commander, CSP Sani Badarawa, said the second suspect was later arrested, adding that various ammunition were recovered in their room and added that the suspects had since been transferred to the command’s CID in Minna, the state capital, for further investigation.
