Governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodimma, his Deputy, Prof. Placid Njoku, and Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Alhaji Muhammad Sabo Nanono, have paid a visit to Victoria Integrated Agro Farm, Umueme Obike, Ngor Okpala LGA of Imo State.
The Governor and his entourage were warmly received at Victoria Integrated Agro Farm by the IMC Chairman, Ngor Okpala LGA, Hon. Chief Mayor Obinna Nweke; Commissioner for Lands and Survey, Chief Barr. Enyinnaya Onuegbu; SA to the Governor on Market and Allied Matters, Okenze Blyden Amajirionwu; SSA to the Governor on Community Relations (Owerri Zone), Hon. Mrs. Chika Ibekwe; SSA to the Governor on Road Rehabilitation, Hon. Chimezie Nwaeke; Director, Imo Orientation Agency, Dr. Ethelbert Okere; Ngor Okpala Traditional Rulers, Honourable Councillors, security agents, Immigration officials and several other Ngor Okpala dignitaries.
Governor Uzodimma while addressing the people of Ngor Okpala at Victoria Integrated Agro Farm said: “There is no how we can talk about strengthening the economy of Imo State through agro allied industries without remembering Ngor Okpala. Ngor Okpala is endowed with enormous natural resources, a peace-loving LGA with adequate security.” He noted that any business operating in Ngor Okpala is protected.
The Governor said he has scheduled to come and see the level of work done at the Farm and that it coincided with the visit of the Minister of Agriculture to Imo State, with whom he pleaded to come and have an on-the-spot assessment of the farm. He said he had already discussed with the Minister the need for more agro investments in Imo and that the Minister has assured him that he is going to partner with the Imo Government to open up more opportunities for agro business in the state.
After the Governor’s address, he took a side tour at the farm with Alhaji Nanono to ascertain the level of work ongoing at the farm.
