Popular television reality show, Big Brother Naija Season 5 kicked off over the weekend in Lagos amidst the coronavirus pandemic.
The show promises to be another interesting session like previous seasons with
Chukwuebuka Obi-Uchendu returning as anchor person.
To keep safe from COVID-19, the house has a disinfection tunnel for every incoming guest and housemates, just as the housemates have been in isolation for two weeks.
According to the organisers, the Season 5 is tagged, “Big Brother Lockdown”, ostensibly to reflect the coronavirus era.
Before introducing the housemates, Ebuka summed up the new season thus,
“It is one house, 20 housemates and 10 weeks. N85 million is the cash prize to be won this time around. This time around, the housemates have the luxury of their own hairdressing salon.”

Ozoemena “Ozo” Chukwu is 27 years and he’s from Imo State. He says he’s going to be playing pranks. One of his greatest achievements was to work with UEFA Federation for Europe. He studied Economics and likes to play loud music in the morning and to bang on doors.
Victoria Adeyele a.k.a Vee, says she will be bringing happiness while in the house. The lady, who is 23 years of age, says she’s coming to win the cash prize. Victoria also says she will employ conspiracy as tactic in the house. She’s a musician born and raised in London but moved to Lagos a year ago to pursue her music career.
She says her parents are Nigerians and she enjoys acting, socialising and making people laugh. Vee says she has never been in a relationship that lasted longer than six months.
Prince Nelson Enwerem says his dad is a king. Prince says he tends to ignore people knowingly and that he will employ conspiracy in the house.
He is a 24 years old entrepreneur from Abia State. He has done modelling, fashion designing and interior decoration. Prince is a graduate of Pure Physics from the University of Calabar.
He likes working out, swimming, food and reading about ancient religions and African history.
Boluwatife Aderogba is a dietician from Lagos State. She says she is a natural leader. Her stage name is Lilo. She is 23, also an entrepreneur. She describes herself as “a product of God’s grace”. Her biggest achievement, according to her, is starting her own brand.
Timmy Sinclair says he does not fit into society. His stage name is Trikytee. He is a 35-year-old creative artist from Bayelsa State. He considers himself as a storyteller who uses the mediums of film, and music to express himself. He says he loves food a lot.
Lucy Essien is from Cross River State. She says she’s bringing fun and good vibes. Lucy says she is most likely to get involved in a fight in the house instead of a relationship.
She is a 30-year-old entrepreneur. She says she is a simple girl not so average and can be mean and rude if someone steps on her toes.
Lucy says she believes in fairy tales, likes good food and likes her space.
Terseer Kiddwaya is a 27-year-old self-employed man from Benue State. He describes himself as confident, good looking, ambitious someone who is highly motivated.
He is also confident and arrogant all at the same time and loves travelling.
He says he’s very patient and doesn't like violence. Kiddwaya says he will be himself.
Dorathy Bachor is a 24-year-old entrepreneur from Delta State. She says her biggest achievement is SHOPFORME – which she says is the biggest procurement company inside Nigeria. She says she’s the only one in the world that could make you smile. Dorathy says she can’t relate with a proud person. She will be known as the girl with multiple personalities on the show.
Praise Tochukwu Nelson is easygoing and he’s the life of the party. Praise says he hates lies. Praise is a fitness instructor and dancer. He’s 28 years of age and he loves meeting new people. Praise is a dancer from Enugu State and says he is not new to fame or competing. He was the winner of the K-Pop World Festival, South Korea 2015 and also won third place in the National Dance Competition in 2010. He is also a certified Latin ballroom expert.
Florence Wathoni Anyansi is a fashion designer. Her father is Igbo and mother Kenyan. Wathoni is looking for friendship in the house. She is 29 years of age and a single parent who juggles a fashion business and a parenting blog. She is also bilingual and speaks and writes in Swahili fluently.
Tochukwu Okechukwu is a 28-year-old rapper and real estate agent from Imo State. He says he is straightforward and a social person. He promises to bring a lot of drama into the house.
He says he will bring in entertainment and action but will be himself. Tochi says he’s single and will be looking for a relationship in the house.
Kate Jones a.k.a Ka3na is 27 years old from Rivers State. An entrepreneur, she describes herself as boss lady because she is in charge of her life. She says she wants to become famous, she likes money and hates poverty. Her dream is to get the biggest luxury fashion brand in the world. Kate loves being happy, according to her. She says she is looking forward to get into fight in the house.
Eric Akhigbe is 24 years old, a final year student of the University of Lagos and comes from Edo State. He says he derives pleasure if he completes any task. He describes himself as fun, likes competitive sports, likes fitness and also enjoys winning. Eric lost his virginity at 20. He’s 6'5 tall.
Ngozi Nlewedim is 26 years old, an actress and a commercial model who came in from London, England. She studied screen acting at the Met Film School in London. She says she is passionate to become a big time celebrity and likes to get drunk and dance in front of the mirror alone. She says she’s bringing entertainment to the house. Erica featured in the movie “Hire a Woman”.
Ezekiel Bright Osemudiame is a 29-year-old sailor from Edo State. Brighto says he is the youngest of six kids and holds a degree in Marine Engineering from Arab Academy of Science Technology and Maritime Transport in Alexandria, Egypt plus other professional certificates. His biggest achievement is the scholarship he got to study abroad and his third engineering licence. According to him, he does not offend people. He can speak Ibo, Hausa, Yoruba, Edo and a little bit of Arabic. He likes to swim, travel and adventures.
Aisha Umar enjoys the outdoors. She says she will be bringing a lot of drama. She describes herself as very emotional and an honest person who can also keep secret. At 25, she likes singing, going out and having fun. Aisha is from Sokoto State. She’s the first Hausa lady on the show. She wants to be known on the show as Kaisha.
Neo is from Warri, Delta State. Neo says he is going to keep it good and true. He says: “I like when people underestimate me...” Real name, Emuobonuvie Akpofure, Neo is a 26 years old ride-hailing app driver. He describes himself as fun, tolerant, loving and smart. He is also secretive. His biggest achievement was when he won N500,000 from one talent competition.
Tolani Shobajo wants to be known in the house as Tolanibaj. She calls herself a single pringle ready to mingle. She says: “I like money... I like Naira Marley a lot...” Tolani is a 27-year-old media personality from Lagos State. She says she is coming on the show for the money.
Olamilekan Agbeleshe is a 26-year-old singer and rapper from Lagos State. He is a graduate of Philosophy from the University of Lagos. He claims to be complicated, that people usually misunderstand him and he is open minded. His biggest achievement was his song ‘Fierce’ which was on MTV BASE Top Ten charts for six months. He adds that he likes to discuss sexual matters. He says he’s a sexual enthusiast.
Nengi is the last but definitely not the least housemate of Season 5. Real name Rebecca Hampson, she is 22 years old, an entrepreneur from Bayelsa State. She is a former model and was among MBGN Top 5 contestants. She loves learning new things, having fun, travelling, taking on new adventures. She studied Communications at the University of Port Harcourt. She says she likes clean places, clean people and likes to be true to herself. She says she gets misjudged by people because of her looks.
