The Permanent Secretary, Osun State Local Government Service Commission, Dayo Olaluwoye has stated that the use of statistics is the only means to get facts and figures that can assist in the development of a nation.

He said this while the National and State Executive members of the Nigeria Statistical Association paid a courtesy visit to him in his office in Osogbo, the Osun State capital.

Olaluwoye explained that “the role of statiscians in the society cannot be over emphasised as they help in planning for national development by providing accurate figures needed for projects implementation and infrastructural development.”

He encouraged them to be committed and work assiduously for the growth of the association by impacting the society positively.

Earlier in his address, the chairman of the association Mr.Samson Ajiferuke said the purpose of the visit is to solicit for the government support for the national conference of the association coming up in September in Osogbo.
