The Inspector-General of Police, Suleiman Abba has warned those making plans to foment trouble during or after the March 28 and April 11 elections to have a rethink or prepare to face the full wrath of the law.

Abba, thus, reaffirmed the commitment of his officers and rank and file to prepare a safe and secured ground for hitch-free polls.

In a release made available to News Express and signed by the Force Public Relations Officer, Emmanuel Ojukwu, an acting Commissioner of Police, the IGP stressed that the Force is determined to strictly enforce all relevant laws towards guaranteeing peace and security in the nation.

He stated that police intervention teams would be on hand to contain any untoward situation, and bring trouble makers to justice.

“The Police High Command also re-emphasizes that the Nigeria Police Force would remain ever non-partisan and impartial. It also advises the political stake holders not to embark on any act that may impact negatively on the public peace.

“While the Members of the public are enjoined not to relent in their efforts at collaborating with the Nigeria Police by fishing out criminals in their midst and further report any suspicious movement in their area to the nearest Police station,” the statement further stated.
