Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA) 2007 Best Actress, Chioma Chukwuka-Apotha, two days ago distributed what she called “quality egusi soup” prepared by her catering outfit, Ugombas Kitchen, to 10 homes in Lagos.
According to the 40-year-old actress and producer, the soup was sponsored by Royal Caribbean Nigeria.
Expressing gratitude to her sponsors the Anambra State indigene born in Lagos said,
“Because of your kind gesture, 10 homes were blessed today with @ugombaskitchen delicious egusi soup. Thank you so very much. God bless you. We appreciate you.”
The Banking and Finance graduate from Lagos State University went on to make an appeal for more organisations and individuals to sponsor her “Quality Egusi Soup” so as to donate to more people:
“I hope many more will come and partner with us to put more smiles on the faces of people during these times that we live in,” she said.
Overhead someone whisper: “Just quality egusi soup is not what the hungry Nigerian masses need right now. You can preserve that for your friends and colleagues who you are sharing your ‘quality egusi soup’ with. The real people need to swallow something along with the soup, whether quality or not, to fill their empty stomach. That’s the only time you can call it a blessing. Outside that, you are only getting sponsors for your kitchen business.”
These Naija people will not kee somebori with their bad mouth o!
