Money is indeed powerful. How else would rave of the moment, Teniola Apata, popularly known by her stage name, Teni The Entertainer, change her name within a minute to become an adopted daughter of world’s richest black man, Alhaji Aliko Dangote?
It all happened at a recent event in Lagos graced by Dangote and to which Teni was also invited to entertain the guests.
During her performance, Teni walked up to where the multi billionaire businessman was seated, she held Dangote by his shoulder and sang a line from her popular song, “Case”, where she said: “My papa no be Dangote or Adeleke but we go dey okay.”
She told Dangote that from that day she was going to change the song to, “My papa na Dangote and Adeleke and we go dey okay.”
There was a thunderous ovation in the hall as Dangote laughed out loud in appreciation of the musician’s courtesy.
According to Teni, from that very moment, she had become Dangote’s adopted daughter.
So when next you see the bulky entertainer, address her as Teni Apata Dangote Adeleke, and you won’t be wrong.
